Our Team
Regg Angell is a welding engineer and CWI who specializes in developing safety critical weldments that require advanced material properties and stringent processing controls. He likes working with a wide variety of materials, fusion welding processes, diffusion bonding, and brazing. He is experienced in welding and brazing procedure qualification, failure analysis, metallurgical testing, equipment procurement, and project management.
He earned his B.S. from Brigham Young University – Idaho in welding engineering technology in 2017. After spending several years in industry, he returned to academia to complete his M.S. and is currently working on his PhD in materials science and engineering, managing full-time employment throughout both graduate programs. Regg’s research, guided by Dr. Leila Ladani, is focused on solid state diffusion bonding and transient liquid phase diffusion bonding Inconel 718 to itself for sheet laminate additive manufacturing.
